Sea stacks, rainforest and mountain lakes. I’ve traveled out to the Olympic Peninsula for couples and would happily do it again, with a travel fee spelled out in your quote.

A Lake Crescent wedding

Jessica + Truman said their private vows on the shore of Lake Crescent before we took photos in the forest, then joined their guests to celebrate. The mountains faded into soft layers of blue behind them, and it made for some of my favorite images.

The wildest corner of Washington

The Olympic Peninsula packs rugged coastline, temperate rainforest, glacier-fed lakes and high mountain ridges into one region. Much of it is protected as Olympic National Park. From Snohomish County, the Edmonds to Kingston ferry is the usual way across Puget Sound.

For photos, it’s pure atmosphere. Fog rolling over sea stacks, moss hanging from old trees, and water so clear at Lake Crescent you can see the stones on the bottom. If you love moody, cinematic images, this is the place.

Places couples love

The coast

Beaches like Ruby Beach and Rialto Beach are known for sea stacks, driftwood and dramatic surf. Check the tide charts with me, because low tide opens up the best spots.

Lake Crescent

Deep blue water ringed by forested mountains. Calm mornings and evenings bring mirror-like reflections.

The rainforest

The Hoh Rain Forest is green in every direction. Soft, even light under the canopy is beautiful for portraits even on grey days.

Permits and planning

Ceremonies inside Olympic National Park need a special use permit from the park, and some areas have limits on group size. Apply early. I’ll help you shape a timeline around ferry times, tides and drive times between locations, which can be long out here.

What’s included

Wedding collections start at $4,750. Every collection includes all-day coverage of six to twelve hours, your choice of a complimentary engagement session or rehearsal dinner coverage, three hours of a second shooter and a high-resolution online gallery. Prints and packages are available. See the full details on the investment page.

Travel fee

Weddings outside the Puget Sound area include a travel fee. It covers getting there, by car or by plane, and lodging when the day calls for an overnight stay. You’ll see it itemized in your quote before you book, so there are no surprises. Details are on the travel weddings page.
